Rescue crews responded to a motorcycle versus bear crash near the Beaver Creek Reserve on Highway "KK" around 4:30 Sunday afternoon.

Deputies say the bear darted out of a ditch and driver of the motorcycle didn't have time to miss it.

Sgt. Steve Miescke, with the Eau Claire Co. Sheriff's Department, says, "the bear was killed outright, and the motorcycle driver got some bumps and scrapes, but he's doing fine and he's very lucky."

Deputies say the bear weighed about two hundred pounds.
