Administrators in Wisconsin's public and private schools no longer have to report fire drills to local fire departments and the state.
>
According to a new law, schools still have to hold a fire drill every month this fall, and administrators have to keep a log of their schools' emergency evacuation exercises for seven years.
>
State Senator Ron Brown, who helped push the law through, says he thinks the reporting requirement is redundant because fire departments already inspect schools and their drill plans twice every year.
