Several Western Wisconsin army facilities will be getting a face lift, including Fort McCoy, which is getting most of the money.
U.S Senator Russ Feingold says Wisconsin is getting more than $37,000,000 from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act. More than $30,000,000 of that money is going to Fort McCoy to renovate World War II era barracks and towards road reconstruction, water main maintenance and other maintenance projects.
Other facilities in our area receiving funds include Camp Williams in Tomah and facilities in Marshfield, Medford, New Richmond and Onalaska.
UPDATE: Representative Ron Kind says Fort McCoy will get another $14 Million dollars in stimulus money to build a family housing facility.
