Local history groups will have a way to get some help, from the state. The Wisconsin Historical Society celebrated the opening of its Northern Field Services Office in Eau Claire today.

Representatives from the society say the office will better assist the 360 local historical organizations in Wisconsin with expertise in areas such as setting up archives and arranging exhibits.

The university of Wisconsin-Eau Claire History Department and the State's Historical Society teamed up to establish the office.

Michael Stevens of the Wisconsin Historical Society says the society will create an internship program for University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire students at the new office.
