Hundreds of people gathered in Eau Claire on Wednesday to voice their opinions about the United States Government.

Joe Matthews from Sparta said, "We're telling the government you work for us. We don't work for the government."

Tammy Cable from Eau Claire said, "I think the government needs to be held accountable for all the money that it's spending, promises that haven't been kept."

Calla Nelson from Independence said, "This is our future so it's kind of us to decide or help decide what's going on."

The "Tea Parties" were held all across the country on Wednesday. At Eau Claire’s City Hall, people of all ages came out to talk about how they're frustrated with government spending and other issues and to express their views on the way the government is running the country. Anyone who wanted was allowed to speak in front of the crowd. One speaker says the government needs to know that people do care about what's going on around the country.

Jeff Peterson said, "We want good government. We want honest government. We want transparent government."

Organizers hope to hold more of these types of gatherings throughout the rest of the year.
