A new detour begins Monday as an $8.7 million construction project continues in Eau Claire.
Crews are working on removing the Birch St. Bridge and rebuilding the intersection. Beginning Monday, Birch St. will be closed from Hastings Way to Wagner St.
Traffic will no longer be able to go West on Birch St. from Hastings Way. Instead, it will be detoured using Seymour Rd. to Starr Ave.
Construction is scheduled to last until November.
