As fans of former Tennessee Titan quarterback Steve McNair prepare to say good-bye at two memorials on Thursday, Nashville police confirmed that he was murdered.

As fans of former Tennessee Titan quarterback Steve McNair prepare to say good-bye at two memorials on Thursday, Nashville police confirmed that he was murdered.

Police say McNair’s girlfriend shot him while he slept on the couch at his Nashville condominium. McNair was shot four times by Sahel Kazemi. She then turned the gun on herself in the morning hours of July 4th.

Investigators say the 20-year-old was distressed about her life. Police say McNair's wife did not know about her husband's relationship with Kazemi.
