Park rangers arrested a dozen Greenpeace members at Mt. Rushmore after they draped a banner over the monument.
The activists scaled the mountain using existing rock anchors. Then they unfurled the 2300 square foot sign.
The banner read "America honors leaders not politicians: stop global warming." It was a challenge to President Obama to stop global warming.
It took crews an hour to pull the banner off the mountain.
