The Rudolph Fire Department released the name of the man killed Saturday morning in a house fire in Rudolph, west of Stevens Point.

Firefighters say 42-year-old Trent Rasmussen died. Rasmussen’s pet dogs also died in the flames.

Fire chief Tony Konkol says the fire was likely sparked by a wood stove or chimney.

All five stations of the Rudolph Fire Department responded to the scene just before eight o'clock Saturday morning. Chief Konkol says the flames caused extensive damage to the house.

The department is still investigating the incident.
