Southbound lanes of Interstate 65 were closed for several hours Sunday night after a fatal traffic accident and diesel fuel spill near Lebanon, Indiana.
>
Police say 67-year-old Theodore Engelberth of Palantine, Illinois, died instantly about four-p.m. Sunday when a semitrailer struck his car on the south side of Lebanon.
>
Police say Engelberth was slowing with other traffic for a previous accident when his car was struck from behind by a semi and pushed into a bridge abutment.
>
The semi driven by Stephen Ellickson of Waunakee, Wisconsin, then struck a second semi and spilled the second truck's cargo onto one lane and the berm.
>
Neither truck driver was injured.
>
Debris from all three vehicles was scattered across the interstate at the accident scene just north of Indianapolis.
