Sheriff’s Department Says Hmong Hunter Was Murdered
30-year-old Cha Vang's body was found partially hidden in a remote wildlife area in eastern Wisconsin.

The Marinette County Sheriff says an accidental meeting between two men hunting small game led to one of them being killed.

Sheriff Jim Kanikula says an autopsy conducted today confirmed that 30-year-old Cha Vang of Green Bay was a victim of a homicide, although he declined to be more specific.

A 28-year-old Peshtigo man, who showed up at a medical center in Marinette with a single non-life threatening gunshot wound Saturday has been detained.
>
Sheriff Kanikula said “the man involving in the shooting became a person of interest on Saturday and is being held on parole violations."
>
The sheriff said both men were using firearms to hunt small game and both had hunted in the rural Peshtigo area previously.
