A problem with a boat motor sent a man and his family for a wild ride on Lake Menomin.
DNR wardens say 30-year-old Sean Laffin, his wife and two kids were out on the lake fishing in Dunn County. That's when he started the motor, and the boat suddenly took off.
Wardens say Laffin, who lives in Spring Valley, was thrown from the boat when it started going in circles. They say Laffin was hit by the boat twice, once by the propeller. Wardens say his shirt and life jacket were torn up by the motor. He was taken to Red Cedar Medical Center with only minor injuries.
