The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is proposing fines of more than $58,000 against the Postal Service's Processing and Distribution Facility in Eau Claire.
After a safety and health inspection at the building on Hogarth Street, OSHA says workers didn't run industrial vehicle refresher training. OSHA also says the Postal Service didn't make sure workers examined industrial trucks every day before using them. It also cited the facility for not providing proper driver training, and not keeping records of its on-the-job injuries properly.
OSHA says it's trying to make sure workers are safe and healthy when they're done working. It’s inspected the Postal Service in Wisconsin more than 130 times since 1981.
