A Bloomer company is facing fines again for not meeting safety standards. A-1 Excavating, Inc. is being cited with one willful and four serious violations of workplace safety standards after one of it's workers died while cutting pipe at a New Richmond Worksite.
OSHA's Area Director Mark Hysell says A-1 has been inspected at different Wisconsin worksites 33 times in the last 27 years. They have been handed 44 citations in that time.
In February, A-1 was issued $693,000 in penalties. This time, A-1 has 15 days to comply or contest $98,000 more in fines.
Last week, a jury found the company discriminated against two female workers. Those women were awarded hundreds of thousand of dollars for the discrimination.
