High school students and parents throughout the state were able to get some help in applying for financial aid for college.
>
College Goal Sunday is a statewide program to help high school students and their parents fill out the free application for federal student aid.
>
That's the standard form used to apply for state.. federal.. and school financial help.
>
About 140 people took advantage of the free program Sunday afternoon at Chippewa Valley Technical College.
>
Volunteers were on-hand to answer questions and give advice to students and parents filling out the forms.
>
"It can be intimidating, confusing and difficult, and that's exactly why we're here," said volunteer and UW-Eau Claire Financial Aid Director Kathy Sahlhoff. "We want to help people get through it."
>
If you missed Sunday's session, Sahlhoff says you can call the financial aid offices at UW-Eau Claire, UW-River Falls, UW-Stout or CVTC with questions.
