Churches around the area opened their doors for services once again Sunday morning, after last weekend's winter storms forced many to cancel.
>
Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Eau Claire was among those that cancelled last weekend.
>
Pastor Gary Sahs says in his 34 years working as a pastor he's only seen church services cancelled a few times.
>
He says it was a difficult decision to make, but the safety of his parishioners was the deciding factor.
>
"Mainly people's safety and their well-being because if you do hold services there will always be some folks that try to make it because the faithful are very faithful," Sahs said.
>
"It seemed kind of funny not to go to church cause I sing in the choir and I enjoy the singing and it's just strange, it was really strange," said Church Sexton DeWayne Schlewitz.
>
Pastor Sahs says he feels blessed no one in his congregation was injured in the storm.
