A semi-trailer truck hit the rear of a school bus Thursday morning in Onalaska near La Crosse injuring nine students, one of them seriously.
Local authorities said both the truck and the bus were coming of U.S. Highway 53 onto Main Street when the crash happened.
The students, who were taken to La Crosse hospitals, attended Onalaska Luther High School. The bus was completing its run from Tomah and Sparta to Onalaska at the time of the crash.
