Steven Avery said he didn't need to testify at his murder trial. As the defense rested its case Monday, the Judge in Circuit Court at Chilton asked Avery, outside the presence of the jury, whether he decided to testify.

Avery replied that he's innocent and there's no reason to take the stand. The jury now gets Tuesday off while attorneys prepare their closing arguments for Wednesday.
