Senator Herb Kohl addressed the recent spike in gas prices while visiting the Chippewa Valley on Saturday.
Senator Kohl says he's contacted the chairman of the Federal Trade Commission, and urged him to investigate any potential anti-competitive practices by oil or gas companies.
Kohl says, "Sometimes there are relationships that aren't exactly the way they should be, and sometimes there are things we can do to see to it that refineries and producers do a better job of holding down costs. And it's our job to always be on their tail." Some experts believe that gas prices could hit the $2 mark in some parts of the state this summer.
