A group of paranormal investigators say the ghost stories you may hear about ten places in the Chippewa Valley are facts.

We talked with people at Eisold's Irvine Bar about hauntings and ghosts after a paranormal investigation.

They chose the Irvine Bar because lots of people tell stories about the ghost of a former owner tapping them on the shoulder, or experiencing other things they can't explain.

Ellie Whitrock of Chippewa Falls says she was once shoved really hard against the wall at the bar, and nobody was behind her.

"So yeah, I do believe there's ghosts," she said.

"Yeah, I guess I believe in ghosts," said Skip Battcher of Chippewa Falls. "I don't know! I don't know! It's hard to explain a lot of things."

Michell Eisold says she never believed in ghosts, until she bought the place two years ago. She also says two people have quit under her watch because of things they couldn't explain. Eisold says one of them saw things falling from a kitchen shelf. She says the other was at the grill when all of a sudden he saw a man go down a nearby staircase. He followed him downstairs and didn't see anybody, then came back up and found that door was locked.

Not all the customers believe the hype.

David King of Chippewa Falls says getting tapped on the shoulder might mean you have a muscle cramp.

"I never have believed in ghosts, and i think it's the phenomenon to the individual," he said.

The investigation didn't uncover any ghosts, at least, none that we could see.

That didn't sway what the two investigators believe.

"There's always going to be skeptics no matter what you're talking about," said Paranormal Investigator Chris Wiener. "Ghosts, landing on the moon, whatever, there's always skeptics and there's always believers and it's just a matter of staying the course."

It's what they hope will help them explain the unexplained in places that people say are haunted.

When we asked investigator Terry Fisk what ghosts look like, he told us they reportedly appear as either solid or transparent apparitions, shadowy figures, glowing figures, nebulous mists, or orbs of light.
