MADISON, Wis. (AP) -- A legislative committee has met to consider whether to strip a troubled state lawmaker of his job.
The Assembly Special Committee on Ethics and Standards of Conduct must recommend whether the full body should kick Rep. Jeff Wood out. Wood, a Chippewa Falls independent, has been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs three times in the last year.
The committee met for the first time briefly Wednesday. The group decided to begin their work by gathering police reports, squad car videos and other documents in Wood's cases.
It was unclear when the panel would meet again.
We'll have more on the meeting Wednesday evening on WEAU 13 News.

Lawmakers on the committee that will consider expelling Representative Jeff Wood met for the first time on Wednesday morning.
Representative Mary Hubler from Rice Lake is the chair of that committee. Her office says the Special Committee on Ethics and Standards of Conduct will meet at the capitol in Madison to talk about the expulsion process. But the committee won't take any public comments Wednesday.
As you remember, Representative Jeff Wood, an Independent from Bloomer, was arrested for OWI three times in 10 months, most recently in Tomah. Wood says he's going to rehab.
As of Tuesday, no one had started a recall petition for Wood.
