Three teenagers are facing misdemeanor charges for letting animals out of their cages at a local zoo.

Investigators say the three vandalized Irvine Park zoo in August, letting out buffalo, a monkey, porcupines and other animals.

18-year-old Kaleb Hines, 18-year-old Jacob Sedarski and a 17-year-old girl, all from Chippewa Falls are charged. Chippewa County prosecutors charged them with criminal damage to property and unauthorized release of animals, as party to the crimes.

In the criminal complaint, Hines told investigators he wanted to give the animals a free day and a little vacation. Hines told police they did a pretty good job for three people.

All of the animals were eventually found.
