Wisconsin wildlife biologists are predicting the state-wide deer harvest will be lower this year than last year.
The DNR says that's because there are fewer herd control units and there's no Earn-a-Buck requirement this year. It says a reduced number of antlerless permits in northern Wisconsin and a late corn harvest are also playing a part.
The DNR says each year, fewer than 40 percent of hunters bag a deer.
