The Chippewa County board has approved its budget, but cuts made mean six or seven people will lose their jobs.
County board members say cuts will be made in departments including Information Technology, Register of Deeds and UW-Extension.
The board also approved a 3 percent property tax levy. That amounts to about $10 per $100,000 of value.
The county also won't re-hire for the 36 spots that are open or vacant after people took early retirement.
The Parks and Forest Department will also merge with other departments as part of the budget cuts.
