Some city officials say there may not be enough parking and non-sports events don't conform with zoning for the surrounding park land.
The city council heard public input on Monday evening and will vote on a zoning change Tuesday afternoon. Currently, the sports center is limited to four non-sports events per calendar year.
The council heard from several people who were connected to non-sports events like the recent Home and Garden Show sponsored by the Chippewa Valley Home Builders Association. They said the sports center was a successful venue and the community would benefit from more events like it.
