A committee that's been looking into the controversy over a memorial for a fallen Chippewa County Sheriff's Deputy doesn't plan to make any changes to it.
The Buildings and Grounds Committee Chairman Mike Murphy says as of now, the committee plans to leave the tablet as it is. Religious wording on one of the memorial's tablets caused the controversy.
Chippewa County Deputy Jason Zunker was hit and killed in January, 2008 while he was helping direct traffic at a crash on Highway 53 near Bloomer.
