Bragging rights for the 'best chili' were on the line Thursday at the Chippewa Valley Technical College.
Thirteen varieties of chili with ingredients ranging from peppers to venison to chocolate were judged, with Judy Clark as one of the five lucky judges.
President Barker's Chili Challenge was put on by the Chippewa Valley Association of Career and Technical Educators. CVTC staff including President Barker submitted the entries.
The winner was instructor Deanna Hoyard with her “screaming dragon” chili. Her chili will be on sale at Green Mill restaurant in Eau Claire with a portion of the proceeds going to the CVTC foundation.
