Almost all charges have been dropped against a man who allegedly impersonated a deputy and shot two people.

Almost all charges have been dropped against a man who allegedly impersonated a deputy and shot two people.

26-year-old Justin Glen Rott faced charges including armed burglary, impersonating an officer and aggravated battery. All but the charge of possessing a firearm have been dropped.

Two homeowners say on August 1st, a man kicked in a door at their Wilson home and demanded money and drugs. They say he was wearing a black t-shirt with "Sheriff" written on it. The homeowners say they were both shot during a struggle.

DNA evidence linked Rott to the home. Prosecutors did not return our phone call as to why the charges were dropped.
