Downtown Eau Claire will kick off the holiday season Friday night by lighting up the city's tree.
If you want to go, it's at 7 p.m. Friday night in the parking lot next to the Ramada off Barstow.
The Memorial High School Madrigal singers will be performing and there will be a reading of "Yes, Virginia, there is a Santa Claus."
The annual tree lighting is part of the holiday season opener and Holidaze Arts Festival.
