The State Assembly gave preliminary approval to a cable choice bill, the future of community television also appears to be on solid ground.
>
Area Representatives Terry Moulton and Jeff Wood co-sponsored Assembly Bill 207, which is intended to bring lower prices and more options to cable subscribers.
>
An amendment to the bill would also send funding to community television by allowing the public, educational and goverment fee (called the peg fee) to be extended for three more years.
>
The bill will be up for an assembly vote next month and the state senate is reviewing the bill in committee.
