Bloomer is getting a bit of a boost to help redevelop an existing building for new construction.
The governor announced Friday that Bloomer will get a $100,000 Blight Elimination and Brownfield redevelopment grant. It will help pay for cleaning up some land and making way for Badger State Recovery, incorporated so the company can expand.

The grant will also offset the costs of a groundwater investiation and debris clean up. The whole project, however will cost more than a million dollars. The mayor tells us the site had been contaminated by fertilizer and it will be dug up and prepared for construction.
