A farm accident lands two men at the bottom of a silo.

It happened in Trempealeau County just after six Tuesday night. Rescue crews say the two were trying to get hay out of the silo when a piece of machinery fell, knocking the two into the silo. Both men were hurt in the fall. One had leg, pelvis and head injuries, the other hurt his leg and was knocked unconscious.

Rescuers say getting the men out of the silo was tough.

"Obviously the timing is critical because it’s very difficult working in a confined space first of all because you don't know what the air quality is, you don't know what the injuries are, it’s very difficult to assess someone when they're in a dark silo. So the first thing is to make sure the environment is safe when you go into the scene so you’re not putting more victims into the scene," says Matt Zavadsky with Tri State Ambulance.

Both men were rushed to Franciscan Skemp for treatment. We don't know their condition.
