U.S. Democratic Senator Russ Feingold officially launched his reelection campaign Monday. Feingold, who is from Middleton, announced he is going for third six-year term.
Feingold said he using his campaign launch to talk about a proposal to move toward universal health care coverage for all Americans. On the issue of the war in Iraq, Feingold says he voted against the engagement because he believed it was a distraction from the nation's war on terrorism.
Feingold will face one of four Republicans after the September primary elections. The general election is Nov. 2, 2004.
On Tuesday Feingold will make official his reelection bid in Eau Claire.
