Six years ago, Senator Russ Feingold faced a bitter and close fight for re-election against Mark Neumann and this year's race could be equally close and equally divisive, especially with Wisconsin being a battleground state for the White House.
On Tuesday, Feingold came to Eau Claire as part of the ceremonial kickoff to his campaign for a third term.
Feingold said one of his priorities, if re-elected is greater health care coverage. He said it was the biggest priority of the Wisconsin people.
Feingold will face the winner of the September Republican primary between Russ Darrow, Bob Welch, Robert Lorge, and Tim Michels.
