Police say they've arrested a man they believe is linked to a Portage child abuse case and possible homicide.

Officers say they took Michael Sisk into custody Friday in Milwaukee after he escaped from a Columbia County home Thursday.
The Portage Police Department is calling Sisk a person of interest.

Police were originally called to the Columbia County home Thursday on the report of a child abduction. That's when they learned an 11-year-old boy at the home had been severely tortured.

Portage Police Chief Ken Manthey says the torture was the worst he had seen in 30 years as an officer.

Police Chief Ken Manthey says, “Two of the officers went back to the apartment. They made entry under exigent circumstances and they found the boy in the closet. He had been burned badly and he had other wounds."

Thursday afternoon police found the body of the boy's mother buried in the backyard. Investigators are still trying to figure out if she was murdered.

Police also arrested a 23-year-old woman and 20-year-old woman found in the house with a missing 2-year-old girl and several other children.
