Sparta Police are searching for a man they believe was involved in a stabbing on Saturday night.
>
The stabbing happened on Hill Street just after 10 p.m. Saturday. A 27-year-old Jorge Rodriguez Mendez was stabbed multiple times.
>
He was taken to a local hospital for non-life threatening injuries.
>
Police are looking for 22-year-old Christian Sanchez. He had been living in Sparta and may have injuries from the incident.
>
"We're looking at aggravated assault charge, of course the caveat there is that there was a weapon involved so we have the use of a dangerous weapon, and disorderly conduct," says Sparta Police Chief Michael Kass.
>
If you have any information on Sanchez, you are asked to call the Sparta Police Department at 608-269-3122.
