Some local kids got their paws on some dog training skills Monday.

Eau Claire County 4-H held a dog training session to show kids how to keep their dogs in line.

Bill Barten from Hay Creek Game Farm ran the event.

His dog has been a part of multiple national contests for hunting dogs.

Barten says its important for people to not teach by using shock collars but to teach first and then dog owners can enforce with the collars.
