PACTIV cuts 29 workers at Chippewa Falls facility

Twenty-nine workers are without a job after some layoffs at PACTIV on Wednesday.

A spokesperson for the Chippewa Falls facility says the workers were notified Wednesday of the layoffs and will not be given severance packages.

She says the workers were all full-time, hourly production employees.

The move was made in order to align production with less customer demand. If it picks up again, the workers could be hired back.

PACTIV produces specialty packaging products for consumers and food service.

A total of 178 people will remain at the Chippewa Falls facility.

PACTIV would rather have just fired the 29 workers and then fight their unemployment. That is what the Company Management Team thinks of it's hard working employees.

They couldn't even lay the workers off face to face. They called them at home and told them not to come back, talk about being a coward.Hey management these are people not machines.

Well, that shows you what type of company PACTIV is. people loyal enough to show up for work each day to make the company money when they available. When times are slow, place the workers on the back burner. NICE!!!!!!
