Small Wisconsin meat processors say they're turning away business because they can't sell their products across the state border.

Butcher Rick reams of RJ's fresh meats in Hudson says he can ship his bratwurst 250 miles to Miller Park in Milwaukee. But, he can't ship his brats 20 miles west to the Minnesota State Fair.

Reams recently turned down an order to make eight-thousand pounds of sausage for Minnesota’s fair because of a federal law that says state-inspected meat can't be sold across the border.

Twenty-eight states, including Wisconsin and Minnesota, have their own meat inspection programs.
