A substitute teacher and youth leader charged with committing sex crimes against two teenage girls was arraigned in Rusk County Monday.

During his arraignment Monday morning, Michael Stratton, 25, heard the formal charges against him. They are a felony count of using a computer to facilitate a child sex crime, and two misdemeanor counts of exposing genitals to a child.

Mr. Stratton entered a plea of not guilty to all three charges.

Police say one of the girls was his student at Ladysmith High School. The other, he met on a ski trip.

Investigators took Stratton’s computer and found thousands of illicit pictures within it.

If convicted, Stratton could face more than 21 years in prison.
