The city of La Crosse could soon spend almost $2 million to buy 11 acres of private land.
The city has been trying to buy what’s known as the Patros Property on the city’s north side for about 30 years.
The city’s Redevelopment Authority reached a $1.9 million deal with the Patros family last night.
The resolution will soon go before the city council for approval.
City officials are now working on determining what the property will be used for. A mixed-use site that would include residential, retail and commercial use is a possibility.
