A convent's two-car garage was the original home for the St. Francis Food Pantry. It was there the Sisters began collecting food and monetary donations from churches, businesses, and community members.
Sister Joel Jacobi says the Pantry prides itself on providing substantial nourishment and well-balanced meals for those in need.
While asking for help can be a humbling experience, Sister Joel says she and the Pantry volunteers allow the needy to maintain their dignity. She says the past twenty-five years have been a great experience, and she plans on continuing to facilitate the charity for years to come.
