With an expected 35 million people to be traveling on the roads for the holiday weekend, the state patrol reminding motorists to drive carefully.

Officials say the three key factors in accidents are speeding, impaired driving and failure to use seat belts, and troopers have been advised to strictly enforce the laws on the road and will issue citations.

Road crews have also been cleared from the highways to help the flow of traffic.

"As of noon today, all of the construction zones will be fully opened as much as possible," says Lt. Jeff Lorentz of the Wisconsin State Patrol. "All the workers have been pulled from the roadway and they will not be back on the roadway until Tuesday at 6:00 a.m."

The traffic on Interstate 94 will be up to four lanes near Menomonie, but Lorentz cautions about expected delays near Hudson.
