The Chippewa County Sheriff's Department is investigating the death of a 4-year-old girl.

Sheriff Jim Kowalczyk says the girl's mother found her face down in the family's bathtub. He says it happened just before 7:30 p.m. Monday at a home on County Highway TT in Cornell. Mayo One responded and flew the girl to a hospital in Marshfield where she was pronounced dead.

Sheriff Kowalczyk says an autopsy was underway around 4 p.m. Tuesday, but right now there is no foul play suspected.
