A man accused of killing his girlfriend during an argument has pleaded no contest.
29-year-old Eric Mayer of Stratford entered the plea in Marathon County Court Tuesday. Mayer is charged in the death of 43-year-old Cynthia Tyler at a home they shared in Stratford.
The criminal complaint says Mayer told investigators Tyler kicked him in the mouth before he then smacked her in the face, knocking her unconscious during an argument. Mayer said when she wouldn't wake up, he called 911. His sentencing is scheduled for June 2.
