Traffic Related Deaths Down in Wisconsin

The Wisconsin Department of Transportation reports fewer traffic related deaths across the state this year.

The agency listed 428 fatalities resulting from car, motorcycle, or bicycle accidents at this point last year. The number stands at 366, a 62 point difference.

Wisconsin highways claimed the lives of 79 people in July. That number is also better than in previous years.

The Bureau of Transportation Safety Director, Major Dan Lonsdorf, believes the recent decline resulted from increased use of seatbelts.
