The 153rd annual fair started Thursday at the state fair park in West Allis and runs through August 15.
Those famous cream puffs are celebrating their 80th year at the fair. They were first made by the Wisconsin bakers association is 1924. Last year, more than 360 thousand puffs were sold in eleven days.
State inspection teams were at the park yesterday inspecting the amusement rides. Carnival employees also will inspect the rides daily.
