A public hearing is set for this Wednesday in Hayward on the Arrowhead-Weston power line.
About 300 of the poles supporting the high voltage line run across federal wetlands. An Army Corps of Engineers permit is required for these areas.
The WIsconsin Public Service Commission approved construction of the line last year. It will run from near Duluth to near Wausau. The line will carry up to 750 megawatss of electricity, enough to provide power to about 200,000 homes.
