Some 23,000 kindergarten through twelfth grade students will benefit from a Junior Achievement fundraiser at the Wild Ridge Golf Course in Eau Claire.
Area golfers played a round with pros and other celebrities in Friday's eighth Annual Free Enterprise Invitational.
Before the event, a pair of pro golfers held a short clinic on driving, chipping, and putting. University of Wisconsin Women’s Basketball Coach Lisa Stone shared in the effort with a free-throw challenge before the tee-times.
"The special events are very important to us in our ability to raise enough funds to provide programming for our students," said Tami Satre of Junior Achievement of Wisconsin.
"About 95 percent of all the money we raise comes from our area business people."
Organizers hope to raise $40,000 through the event.
Junior Achievement teaches business to more than five million students around the world.
