Prosecutors have filed a battery charge against Jerry Whitworth.

Prosecutors have filed a battery charge against the mayor of Chetek.
Officers arrested Jerry Whitworth earlier this month. He pleaded not guilty yesterday in Barron County.
Through a written statement, Whitworth said he was sleeping when he woke up to a person entering his bedroom window. He says he shoved the person who he thought was a burglar, but that person was his wife.
He's scheduled to be back in court on October 17th.
